Stuart Queen was born in 1890, in Fredonia, Kansas. He entered Pomona College in 1906, majoring in Greek. In 1908, Queen transferred to University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he developed his life-long interest in sociology. He then returned to Pomona to complete his undergraduate degree. Queen received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago in 1919. Queen was Professor of Social Economy and Director of the School of Social Work at Simmons College (1920-19...
